Royal Academy of Ballet is a Royal Academy of Dance (England) certified ballet school with a dress code for all students to comply with. Please see below for detailed information on what your child should wear for classes. For your convenience, RAB Hawaii has an in-house store that sells all the dress codes and hair accessories required for students.

Pre-School Program

Pre-Ballet I (Age 3 - 4 yrs old)
Girls - Pink leotard with sleeve and skirt attached. RAD-approved ankle socks and pink leather, full-sole ballet slipper. Hair must be neatly tied up into a bun. Students with shorter hair may put their hair up in a ponytail.
Boys - White short-sleeved polycotton lycra t-shirt with polycotton lycra shorts in navy, RAD-approved ankle socks, and white leather, full-sole ballet slipper. 

Pre-Ballet II (Age 4 - 5 yrs old)
Girls - White leotard with sleeve and skirt attached. RAD-approved ankle socks and pink leather, full-sole ballet slipper. Hair must be neatly tied up into a bun. Students with shorter hair may put their hair up in a low ponytail.
Boys - White short-sleeved polycotton lycra t-shirt with polycotton lycra shorts in navy, RAD-approved ankle socks, and white leather, full-sole ballet slipper. 

Graded Syllabus

Pre-Primary (Age 5.5 yrs old and up)

Boys - White short-sleeved polycotton lycra t-shirt with polycotton lycra shorts in navy, RAD-approved ankle socks, and white leather, full-sole ballet slipper. 

Grade 1 (Age 7 yrs old and up)
Girls - Pink sleeveless leotard and belt. RAD-approved pink tights and pink leather, full-sole ballet slipper. Hair must be neatly tied up into a bun. Students with shorter hair may put their hair up in a low ponytail.
Boys - White short-sleeved polycotton lycra t-shirt with navy shorts, RAD-approved ankle socks, white leather, full-sole ballet slipper. 

Grade 2
Girls - Light Blue sleeveless leotard and belt. RAD-approved pink tights and pink leather, full-sole ballet slipper. Hair must be neatly tied into a bun; students with shorter hair may put hair up in a low ponytail.
Boys - White short-sleeved polycotton lycra t-shirt with polycotton lycra shorts in navy, RAD-approved ankle socks, and white leather, full-sole ballet slipper. 

Grade 3
Girls - Teal sleeveless leotard and belt. RAD-approved pink tights and pink leather, full-sole ballet slipper. Hair must be neatly tied up into a bun.
Boys - White short-sleeved polycotton lycra t-shirt with navy shorts, RAD-approved ankle socks, white leather, full-sole ballet slipper. 

Grade 4

Girls - Mulberry sleeveless leotard and belt. RAD-approved pink tights and leather, full-sole ballet slipper and satin shoes (with ribbons). Hair must be neatly tied up into a bun.
Boys - White short-sleeved polycotton lycra t-shirt with navy shorts, RAD-approved ankle socks, white leather, full-sole ballet slipper. 

Grade 6 and up
Girls - Navy Blue or Black sleeveless leotard and belt. RAD-approved pink tights and pink leather, full-sole ballet slipper. Hair must be neatly tied up into a bun.
Boys - White short-sleeved polycotton lycra t-shirt with navy stirrups tights, RAD-approved ankle socks, and white leather, full-sole ballet slipper. 

Vocational; Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced Foundation, Advanced 1 & 2

Girls - Black, Royal Blue, or Purple camisole leotard and belt. RAD-approved pink tights, pink leather, satin, soft-block demi-pointe (with ribbons for an exam),  full-sole ballet slipper. Hair must be neatly tied up into a bun with appropriate hair ribbons.
Boys - White short-sleeved polycotton lycra t-shirt with navy stirrups tights, RAD-approved ankle socks, and white leather, full-sole ballet slipper.
